Bellows Expansion Joint

Bellows Expansion Join is a key component used to absorb stress caused by thermal expansion, contraction, vibration, displacement, etc. in the pipeline system. In pneumatic conveying systems, corrugated expansion joints can effectively alleviate pipeline deformation caused by temperature changes, mechanical movement or other external factors, ensuring stable operation of the system.

Principle

The working principle of the corrugated expansion joint is based on its unique structural design - it is composed of one or more layers of corrugated tubes, which have good elasticity and recovery capabilities. When the piping system expands or contracts due to temperature changes, the corrugated expansion joint lengthens or shortens while maintaining a tight seal. In addition, corrugated expansion joints can also absorb complex movements such as lateral displacement and angular deflection. Specifically:
Axial displacement: Corrugated expansion joints can extend or shorten along the centerline of the pipe to adapt to length changes caused by temperature changes.

Lateral displacement: It can withstand the displacement of the pipeline in the direction perpendicular to the center line and prevent pipeline dislocation caused by factors such as ground settlement.

Angular deflection: Allows a certain angle change between the two ends of the pipe, which helps alleviate the impact of installation errors or equipment vibration.
In order to ensure the normal operation of the corrugated expansion joint, a deflector is usually installed inside it to reduce the impact of high-speed airflow on the corrugated pipe, and a limiting device is equipped on the outside to limit excessive displacement and protect the corrugated expansion joint from damage.

Parameter

Features and Advantages

High elastic compensation: capable of absorbing large displacements and effectively alleviating stress concentration problems in the pipeline system.

Good sealing performance: good sealing can be maintained even under frequent expansion and contraction to prevent media leakage.

High temperature and high pressure resistance: It is suitable for various harsh working conditions and can work stably in a wide range of pressure and temperature.

Vibration reduction and noise reduction: absorb vibrations generated by mechanical equipment, reduce noise transmission, and improve the working environment.

Extended service life: By reducing the stress on the pipeline system, the wear of the pipeline and accessories is reduced, and the life of the entire system is extended.

Easy installation: The compact design makes it easy to integrate into existing pipelines and facilitate maintenance.

Safe and reliable: Equipped with multiple protection mechanisms, such as limit devices, to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.

Usage Scenarios

Corrugated expansion joints are widely used in all aspects of pneumatic conveying systems, especially where temperature changes, mechanical vibrations or other external stresses need to be dealt with.
