Screw Conveyor

Screw Conveyor, also known as screw conveyor, is a mechanical device widely used in pneumatic conveying systems for horizontal or inclined conveying of dry bulk materials such as powders and granules. It transports materials from one end to the other along a fixed pipe or trough through rotating spiral blades. The auger can not only achieve efficient material handling, but can also be seamlessly connected with other conveying equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the entire system.

Principle

The working principle of the auger is based on its unique structural design and driving mechanism:
Spiral shaft and blades: The core component of the auger is a shaft equipped with spiral blades. When the motor drives the spiral shaft to rotate, the spiral blades push the material forward in the axial direction.

Feed port and discharge port: One end of the auger is provided with a feed port for receiving materials from the upstream process; the other end is provided with a discharge port, and the material is discharged after reaching this position through spiral push.

Shell (U-shaped groove or tubular): surrounds the spiral shaft and blades to form a closed conveying channel to prevent material leakage and guide material flow.

Driving device: usually composed of a motor and a reducer, which provides power to rotate the spiral shaft.

Support structure: supports the spiral shaft and its rotational movement to ensure smooth operation and reduce vibration and noise.
When the material enters the inlet of the auger, as the screw shaft rotates, the material is gradually pushed to the outlet and discharged. During the entire process, the materials are always kept in a relatively closed space, reducing dust and pollution.
