Gas Tank
A gas storage tank refers to a device specially used to store gas, and also plays a role in stabilizing system pressure. According to the different pressures of the gas storage tank, it can be divided into high-pressure gas storage tanks, low-pressure gas storage tanks, and normal pressure gas storage tanks.
According to the different materials of gas storage tanks, they can be divided into: carbon steel gas storage tanks, low alloy steel gas storage tanks, and stainless steel gas storage tanks.
Gas storage tanks (pressure vessels) generally consist of parts and components such as cylinders, heads, flanges, pipes, sealing elements and supports. In addition, it is also equipped with safety devices, meters and internal parts to complete different production process functions.
The gas storage tank ensures that the system can maintain stable operating pressure even if the compressor temporarily stops working or the load suddenly increases. Additionally, air tanks can help remove moisture and oil from compressed air, thereby improving air quality.
Principle
The working principle of the gas storage tank is based on its sealing and pressure resistance. It stores compressed air or other gases. When the gas is needed, the gas is released through the outlet valve. Specifically, when the gas generated by the compressor is sent into the gas storage tank, due to the limited space inside the tank, the gas is compressed and the pressure increases. According to Poisson's law in physics, under constant temperature conditions, the volume and pressure of a gas are inversely proportional; that is, when the gas is further compressed, its pressure will increase accordingly. Once downstream equipment requires more gas supply, the high-pressure gas in the gas storage tank will flow to these equipment through pipelines until a new equilibrium state is reached.
